Lloyd Jusa

Lloyd Jusa is a professional certified sommelier who works at the luxurious Saxon Hotel Villas and Spa as the Head Sommelier and Director of The Saxon Collection Wine Program in the upmarket suburb of Sandhurst. His qualification was obtained through the Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) UK, a professional body with only two chapters, one in London and the other in the USA.

An avid traveller, he has been working in the wine industry since 2006 and has amassed a wealth of knowledge travelling through Germany, Austria, England, France and more recently, Spain.

Among his growing accolades includes the Best Wine Service Award with the Eat Out Mercedes Benz Restaurant Awards 2015, an award he says was the pinnacle of his career. He is a regular contributor to Woolworths’ Taste Magazine, and has been featured as the Best Dream Team Sommelier in the World in Britain’s leading travel magazine Country Life. Other publications that he has featured include The Real Estate Magazine, Joburg Live and a host of Corporate publications.

More recently Lloyd has been judging South Africa’s restaurant and hotel wine lists for Diners Club International, a role he says will benefit the country in competing with international trends.

He has also been the guest sommelier for the famous Good Food & Wine Show, as well as Opulent Living’s Chefs Who Share – Art of Living, a charity project designed to feed the country’s underprivileged community. And when not working with beverages, Lloyd likes to photograph nature, a passion he says is designed for those with an eye for detail.
